Auction scheduled for family's Bricktown plot
One thing would make Tuesday’s auction of a solid block of
Bricktown as sweet as the candy the McLain family used to
make there: An Oklahoma buyer. “Our first, second and
third choice is an Oklahoma City somebody who knows the
potential of Bricktown to come in here and buy it,” R.T.

10-story Hampton Inn proposed for Bricktown
A proposed 10-story Hampton Inn — the tallest addition to
Bricktown — is set to be reviewed next month by the
Bricktown Urban Design Committee.
The $20 million project has been in the works for two years
and is being developed by Marsh Pittman, owner of the Power
Alley Parking Garage and Madison, Wis.-based Raymond

BRICKTOWN’S transformation from a seedy warehouse district
to a gleaming entertainment center continues apace. This is
a success story being noticed nationwide. One person
taking note is Missouri hotel magnate John Q. Hammons, who
will soon start construction on Bricktown’s first hotel, a
$20 million Residence Inn. Hammons already owns two of the
three downtown hotels now operating. He also wants to build

Canal reflects Bricktown growth
Ridership on the Bricktown water taxis is at its highest
level since the canal’s opening year. Chad Huntington,
general manager of Water Taxi of Oklahoma, said the company
and the city will split a profit of more than $40,000 for
the fiscal year thanks to the increase, which he credits to
